The objective of this inFUSE Accelerator workshop is to explore how communities can participate in carbon markets and provide examples with concrete actions and recommendations.
The carbon market has been garnering a lot of interest in Indonesia. That there are 3,878 pending applications for registration in the national carbon registry (SRN) is a testament to this. With significant interest from many stakeholders, it is important to ensure that activities developed bring tangible benefits to local communities, particularly those directly impacted by carbon projects.
Focusing on the local community not only benefits the surrounding area, but also creates higher value for the proposed carbon project. This workshop will discuss what kind of activities can bring value to the market and how they can benefit local communities.
