This special edition of our regular inFUSE Accelerator workshops will be held in collaboration with Indonesia Carbon Trade Association (IDCTA) and Dana Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (DIPI).
Discuss, share strategies and propose solutions for strengthening the integrity of Indonesia’s carbon market. Our aim is ensuring this nascent market remains a trustworthy and impactful tool for climate mitigation and sustainable development.
Indonesia, home to vast natural resources and tropical forests, has immense potential in contributing to global carbon reduction through the carbon market. The carbon trading mechanism, if managed with transparency and integrity, can provide economic incentives for protecting the environment, supporting sustainable land use, and enabling Indonesia achieves its ambitious climate goals.
However, ensuring the integrity of the carbon market poses challenges. Issues such as transparency, robust monitoring, verification processes, and ensuring accountability are vital in maintaining trust and ensuring long-term success. As carbon credits become an essential component of both national and global carbon reduction efforts, it is crucial to establish strong governance frameworks, credible certification processes, and effective collaboration between stakeholders to prevent fraud and ensure equitable benefit sharing.
